SculpSure Q & A

What is SculpSure?

SculpSure is a safe, non-invasive laser treatment designed to treat stubborn fat anywhere you desire, including your abdomen, upper arms, thighs, buttocks, love handles, and back.

How does it work?

SculpSure cools the skin while delivering heat energy to fat cells beneath the skin. This energy permanently damages your fat cells, and then your body flushes them from your system over the weeks following the procedure.

How many treatments are required?

Just one treatment can remove nearly 25% of fat cells in the treatment area. Some patients are satisfied with their results after a single treatment while others require a few treatments to achieve the results they want. Dr. Basch performs a thorough evaluation to ensure you have a good idea of your treatment plan before moving forward.

How long does it take to see results?

Results first appear in the days or week after your treatment and continue to improve over the next three months. Because the destroyed fat cells are removed through natural body processes, your final result can be seen around 12 weeks after treatment.

When can I return to work?

There is no downtime following SculpSure. You can schedule the treatment over your lunch break and finish your work day if you choose.

Are there potential side effects?

Side effects are mild and uncommon. In a small percent of cases, patients report soreness, stiffness, or minor bruising following the treatment.

Am I a good candidate for SculpSure?

Because SculpSure is safe and non-invasive, there are very few contraindications, which means most patients can receive the treatment. If you’re pregnant or experiencing a rash or other skin problems in the treatment area, you may need to delay your SculpSure treatment. The other factor Dr. Basch will consider is whether the procedure can meet your expectations. If your expectations aren’t realistic for SculpSure, Dr. Basch will share his honest opinion with you and steer you in the right direction.

Will the fat return?

Fat cells destroyed through SculpSure are permanently removed from the body and can’t return. However, maintaining your weight through diet and exercise is important in maintaining the appearance you’ve achieved. Individual results may vary.
